So last weekend, I was listening to my music while fishing. (I know its dumb dont remind me)
And I caught a fish! Lucky me right? Wrong. At the same time I dropped my ipod on the deck and thought it just fell and I could pick it back up. Wrong again. It slipped through the only crack in the deck. The only fucking crack on the deck.
So I got a new one and the first thing you want to do when you get home is put music on it right? Wrong again. Apparently my ipod isnt compatible with my computer and I have to update it to at least version 10 or over. But I cant do that because my grandpa thinks itunes took his songs when it in fact DIDN'T and I have proof but he still wont let me have the hundereds of dollars I spent on fucking songs.
Great weekend for me.. I was also thinking about selling the first ipod for some decent money -__-

I'm a huge movie and video game buff going back to my childhood in the days of NES and VHS. I had some minor problems with that old school equipment, but nothing blowing on the cartridge couldn't fix.
Through the years, I've owned other VHS players, a couple of standard DVD players, an upconverting DVD player, and a Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, and a PS2. I had very, very minor issues with some of these items, but I never had to make a service call or return anything.
Then, a couple of years ago I bought a X-Box 360 and a Samsung DLP. Thankfully, the DLP never gave me any problems, and the upconverting DVD player I bought (Sony) never had any issues, but I had serious problems with the 360.
Now, I know about the 360's terrible track record, but this was ridiculous. I went through 4 systems (I tried all the different varieties) and suffered system freezes on all of them and eventually an update failure that bricked one of them.
Finally, I switched over to the PS3. I've had ...

My computer's optical drive stopped working (CD/DVD thingy), and I couldn't find anyone savvy enough to help me replace it. I found some excellent instructions online, and ordered a replacement. Of course, since I needed to see the instructions on a computer to fix my computer, I went to the computer lab at school to fix it. I thought I had everything I needed, got halfway through, and came upon the part of the instructions that said to lay the logic board down on a soft cloth. I had nothing on me except my hoodie, and I was all in a rush because I was about to miss dinner at the dining commons, so I used the hoodie. I finish the process, and put it back together. And it won't turn on. Turns out, you're not supposed to put a logic board on polyester fabric because the static charge can destroy it. The hoodie was polyester fleece.
And I missed dinner anyway.
In sum, my computer died, I bought a new one (WITH the applecare insurance stuf), and will never attempt to fix a computer again.

Went to order some healthly food, and just as the first item appeared on the order confirmation screen, I saw:
A Kernel Panic, followed by a reboot of the system (obviously a 'nix box), then it ending in a pitiful flashing white text on black background 'Cannot read from fixed disk (R)etry (F)ail
I was gonna take a picture with the cell phone, but there was somebody in line behind me.
After that they totally screwed up the order and even forgot the straw and napkins (ug).
Of course if it was a Windows box I probably would have got 100 free cheeseburgers.... :P

Well, I had coasted through the whole day thumbing my nose at the “Bad Luck Friday” murmurs I heard today. So it was bound to happen – bad luck thought me too arrogant. The curse of Friday the 13th saw me as too full of myself. It was time to put me in my place on this day to teach me bad luck does exist and will make itself known to me so I will never again doubt.
So what was this bad luck I speak of? I lost nearly a week’s worth of programming due to my backup system overwriting instead of backing up my project. .
So there you have it folks. Incontrovertible truth written in black and white – with a smilie thrown in for good measure. Bad luck is true and it occurs every Friday the 13th. There’s no sense in trying to fight it, no sense in trying to deny or write it off as coincidence.
